THE MISSION
A public-private partnership to build a structured parking facility supporting the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts and surrounding downtown community. The scope includes a six-level garage with over 500 parking spaces and 14,000 square feet of commercial lease space on a one-acre triangular site in downtown San Antonio.
The Challenge
The project required balancing the distinct objectives of four stakeholders — the Tobin Center, First Baptist Church, the City of San Antonio, and Bexar County — while navigating tight urban site constraints, River Improvement Overlay District regulations, and the need to architecturally complement both the adjacent Tobin Center and the surrounding historic district.
THE STEWARDSHIP
We provided oversight of design and construction, coordinating across multiple public agencies and stakeholder groups to keep the project aligned and on track.
The Team
Marmon Mok Architecture (architect), Linbeck/Zachry (construction manager)
