THE MISSION
THE MISSION

Steinmetz Hall was not designed to be just a venue; it was conceived as one of the most acoustically pure spaces in the world. The goal was to achieve an N1 sound rating—near-total silence—creating a facility that "floats" independently on rubber isolation pads to separate it from the noise of the city and the surrounding arts complex.

The Challenge
The Challenge

Perfection allows for zero margin of error. The technical requirements were unforgiving. The design demanded a multi-form theater capable of physically transforming its shape, seating, and acoustics automatically. This required the seamless coordination of a large team. Any misalignment in construction or schedule pressure threatened to compromise the acoustic integrity that defined the institution’s core identity.

THE STEWARDSHIP
THE STEWARDSHIP

We served as the connective tissue between the high stakes of the artistic vision and the hard realities of construction. We assisted in the coordination between the architectural, acoustic, and construction teams to ensure the "floating" box design was executed flawlessly. We established a leadership structure that prevented gridlock, ensuring that schedule pressures never forced a compromise on the N1 rating.
